The Halasuru Gate police have filed an FIR against an IAS officer for allegedly passing an illegal order related to a land.
The FIR was registered on Tuesday following a complaint by a KAS officer, Prashanth Khangouda Patil. The police initially registered an NCR and converted it to an FIR after Mr. Patil approached the court and got an order directing police to register the FIR and prove in detail.
Mr. Patil, who is an office assistant at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, in his complaint accused Vasanti Amar, who was the then Special Deputy Commissioner-3, Bengaluru North, of passing an illegal order on a 10.2-acre of land located in Dasanapura hobli in Bengaluru North sub-division.
The incident as per the FIR occurred between June and September, 2024. The police opened the case under Section 257 (public servant in judicial proceeding corruptly making report, contrary to law) of the BNS for further investigation.
