Suspected food poisoning at hostel in Thrikkakara

Over 20 students at a private hostel in Thrikkakara sought medical treatment on Wednesday following suspected food poisoning.

The health wing of the Thrikkakara municipality inspected the hostel premises after the students complained of vomiting and diarrhoea. The youth were studying at a langauge training institute in Thrikkakara.

Health officials collected water samples to ascertain the source of infection. The residents used to have food from a canteen near the hostel. Hostel officials said that the condition of the students had improved after they received medical care.
