Traffic regulations in Thiruvananthapuram city for Onam celebrations

The City police have announced that traffic regulations will be in effect from September 3 to September 9 in Thiruvananthapuram city in connection with the Onam celebrations.

Traffic restrictions will be implemented along the Kowdiar-Attakulangara stretch as well as on roads located near the venues of various Onam celebration events. The police have strictly prohibited parking of vehicles on main roads and byroads in the city.

Vehicles should only be parked in areas designated for parking. Any vehicle found parked illegally or in a manner that causes traffic obstruction will be removed using recovery vehicles, and legal action will be taken against the owners, the police have cautioned.

Pedestrians have also been advised against walking in a way that hinders the flow of traffic.

In case of traffic congestion along the Vellayambalam-Museum Road, vehicles approaching from both the Vellayambalam and Corporation sides will be diverted through alternative routes to ease traffic flow.

People can park vehicles in University office compound, University College, Sanskrit College, Kerala Water Authority compound, Jimmy George Indoor Stadium parking, Public Office compound, Salvation Army School at Kowdiar, Tagore Theatre parking, St. Joseph’s School ground, Government College for Women, Sree Swathi Thirunal Government College of Music, Fort High School, Government Central High School at Attakulangara, Manjalikulam ground, Attukal Temple ground, Government Homeopathic Medical College ground at Iranimuttam, and LBS Centre for Science and Technology at Poojappura.
