The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanded an apology from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal for his “fearmongering” statements on Delhi schools receiving hoax bomb threats. The BJP’s rebuttal comes a day after a 12-year-old was detained by the Delhi police on Tuesday for sending a bomb threat to St. Thomas School in Dwarka.

‘Trust security agencies’

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said, “The people of Delhi expect that in future, whether the threat is to a school or an airline company, Arvind Kejriwal and his party refrain from making petty political statements and fearmongering, and instead place their trust in the security agencies.”

He said that any threat to educational institutions is taken very seriously by the Delhi police and not only are physical security inspections conducted immediately, but swift cyber probe is also carried out to identify the person behind such threats.

On Wednesday, Mr. Kejriwal had attacked the BJP over repeated bomb threats being issued to schools. “For the third day in a row, bomb threats have been issued to Delhi schools. Neither Union Home Minister Amit Shah nor the BJP’s ‘four-engine government’ seem to care about the safety of Delhi’s children. The BJP is hell-bent on turning Delhi into a jungle raj,” he had said in a post on X.
