AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, hosted a Private Practitioners Forum in Neurosurgery, held under the banner of the Neurological Society of India (NSI) on July 18 and 19. The two-day event brought together over 300 neurosurgeons from across the country, carving out a space to address the often-overlooked challenges and dilemmas faced by private practitioners in the field.
The forum centred its discussions on the theme âHolistic Approach to Patient Care and Practice Sustainabilityâ. From medico-legal intricacies to the emotional and financial toll of running a private practice, the forum tackled issues that shape the real-world experience of modern neurosurgeons.
Over 100 speakers participated in discussions on a wide range of topics, including litigation risk, clinical autonomy, digital branding, ethical dilemmas, burnout, leadership and entrepreneurship.
âMedical practice today demands much more than clinical excellence. Initiatives like the NSI Private Practitionersâ Forum create a much-needed platform where clinicians can openly discuss the complex realities of private practice, from legal risks to sustaining ethical care models. These conversations are vital if we are to nurture a responsible, patient-centred healthcare system,â said D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals.
