Welcoming the State government constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations of numerous murders and burials in Dharmasthala, the CPI(M) and DYFI said on Sunday that the investigation should be completed within a specific timeframe, and the truth should be revealed.

The CPI(M) State secretary K. Prakash said in a release: “…those investigating officials who destroyed evidence to derail the process of investigation during the course of the probe into Soujanya’s rape and murder should be thoroughly subjected to investigation…”

The DYFI said that the SIT probe should be impartial.

Meanwhile, referring to the constitution of SIT, K. Parshwanath Jain, a spokesperson of ‘Dharmasthala’, said in a statement: “Truth and belief are the strongest foundations for a society’s ethics and faith. Therefore, it is our sincere hope and earnest demand that the SIT conducts the highest level of investigation in this case and brings out the true facts to light.”
