Girl students of a government high school in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district were made to ride a three-wheeled light commercial vehicle to attend an awareness programme organised by the district administration.on Wednesday.
The students of the school, situated in Sharavathi Nagar, were taken to the Karnataka Public School on BH Road, about three kilometres away, via the three-wheeler.
More than 15 children took this ‘risky ride’ on the busy roads of Shivamogga, interestingly, to attend a programme aimed at inculcating awareness on their safety.
The programme was jointly organised by the Department of School Education, and the District Legal Cell. Girl students of seven government high schools attended the programme.

M.S. Santhosh, member secretary of the district legal services authority, delivered a speech and interacted with the students at the event.
Deputy Director of Public Instructions S.R. Manjunath and other officers of the School Education Department were present. Around 350 students of government schools in the city took part in the programme.
