Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of threatening police officials openly and instilling a sense of fear among the student community by spreading misinformation.

“Mr. Rao has been claiming that he would take police officials to task after returning to power in three years while meddling with students’ lives by falsely promising that he would reclaim power within three years. This is not confidence, this is coercion,” he said in New Delhi on Saturday.

The MP said Mr. Rao is directly threatening IAS and IPS officers, and this is dangerous and deeply undemocratic, and that too after being an administrator for 10 years.

“People have rejected you due to this arrogance. So don’t dream of coming back to power,” he said.

Mr. Kiran Reddy also took exception to Mr. Rao’s narrative on development. “Wherever KTR goes, he speaks of ten years of development. But what do people actually see in the villages? Ration cards, Indiramma houses, and free bus travel, all Congress schemes,” he claimed.

The Congress MP argued that Mr. Rao had abused his power during his tenure by tapping phones and trying to silence dissent. “This isn’t just unethical but also criminal,” he said.

He also responded to Mr. Rao’s remarks on Sonia Gandhi’s letter to CM Revanth Reddy, saying Ms Gandhi praised the caste survey in Telangana and appreciated the CM for his efforts. “But Mr. Rao can’t digest popularity of the Chief Minister when the entire country is taking about the survey,” he alleged.
