A 72-year-old man was electrocuted from a snapped power line on his coconut farmland at Olassery in Kodumbu panchayat, near here, on Sunday morning (July 27).
Mari Muthu, a farmer, lost his life when he accidentally stepped on a broken power line in his farmland. He had gone to collect fallen coconuts around 7 a.m.
When he did not return home, his family began a search for him. He was found electrocuted around 9 a.m.
The power line had reportedly broken in the strong wind and rain that lashed the area in the early hours of Sunday.
