Free PSC coaching launched for coastal youth in Kodungallur to counter drug menace

In a proactive step to empower the coastal youth and steer them away from the perils of substance abuse, the Excise Circle Office, Kodungallur, in association with Vimukthi Mission, has launched a free coaching programme for Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) aspirants under a campaign “Employment is the Real High.”

Inaugurating the initiative on Sunday, MLA E.T. Taison emphasised the importance of education and employment in countering the growing menace of drug addiction, especially in vulnerable coastal communities. The six-month-long coaching programme is being held at the Muhammad Abdurahman Memorial Library, Eriyad, benefiting 50 registered job aspirants from the region.

To facilitate the learning process, participants were provided with PSC preparation books, notebooks, and pens free of cost.

Eriyad grama panchayat president K.P. Rajan presided over the inaugural function. District Assistant Excise Commissioner and Vimukthi District Manager A.R. Nigeesh, Kodungallur Excise Circle Inspector V. Balasubramanian and others spoke.
