Silk vastra and other gifts from Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam were received at Andal temple here on Sunday ahead of Aadi Pooram festival.
The gifts included turmeric, kumkum, sandal paste, bangles and fruits, which were brought by a team from Ranganathaswamy temple including its Executive Officer Sivaramkumar and Sundar Bhattar.
The gifts were taken in procession through the Mada Streets and were later received by temple officials including its Executive Officer S. Sakkaraiammal. Similar goods were brought from Kallazhagar temple in Madurai.
Traffic regulation
Meanwhile, Virudhunagar district police have announced regulation of traffic in Srivilliputtur town in view of the car festival on Monday.
Vehicles proceeding towards Rajapalayam from Madurai via Srivilliputtur would be diverted at Krishnankoil through the four-way highway, Srivilliputtur court complex, railway station and Taluk Office Road.
Vehicles proceeding from Srivilliputtur bus stand towards Rajapalayam would have to through Aathukadai junction, Ramakrishnapuram, Sengulam junction, Municipal Office and Tiruparkadal.
Vehicles proceeding from Rajapalayam towards Madurai should go via MKP Pudupatti junction, Mamsapuram, Aathukadai junction, Ramakrishnapuram, Srivilliputtur bus stand and again through Aathukadai junction and Ramakrishnapuram, the statement said.
