In view of the ongoing bridge construction work on the stretch of Rajiv Gandhi Salai, from Madhya Kailash junction to Tidel Park junction, the existing road width has been reduced. As a result, traffic congestion is prevalent on the road during morning peak hours.
To curb traffic snarls during the peak hour period (between 8.30 a.m. and 11 a.m.), the Greater Chennai City Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced the following traffic improvement measure:
In addition to the existing carriageway, vehicles traveling from Madhya Kailash Junction towards Tidel Park will be allowed to use one lane of the opposite carriageway (from Tidel Park to Madhya Kailash) for a stretch of 300 meters, up to the U-turn near VHS Hospital.
This traffic arrangement will be implemented starting Friday, between 8.30 a.m. and 11.00 a.m., and will continue until further notice.
