Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy on Thursday suspended Anganwadi teacher V. Swaroopa and supervisor K. Shashikumari of Rukmapur Anganwadi centre in Choppadandi mandal for alleged dereliction of duty.
The action follows a surprise visit by the Collector to the Anganwadi centre in Rukmapur on Wednesday.
The play materials meant for children were found locked in an unused room, washrooms at the Anganwadi centre were found closed, and low attendance of children was noticed during the surprise visit, according to a press release.
A show-cause notice has been issued to the Child Development Project Officer, Gangadhara ICDS project, Narsinga Rani, for ‘lapses’ in supervision.
