Water supply to western parts of Bengaluru and 110 villages in the city’s outer zones served by Cauvery V Stage was disrupted on August 1 due to technical glitches, according to Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

BWSSB stated that the big valve on the pipeline that supplies water to western areas of the city — essentially, areas along West of Chord Road and Mysuru Road — has malfunctioned, and needs immediate replacement.

Similarly, the Board stated, there has been a technical glitch at the water pumping station in Tataguni, off Kanakapura Road, that supplies water to 110 villages.

Repairs at both places are underway, and are expected to be completed today. Water supply is likely to be restored on August 2, sources said.
