ADGP’s tractor trip to Sabarimala Sannidhanam: HC closes suo motu proceedings

While disapproving Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M.R. Ajith Kumar travelling on a police tractor from Pampa to a spot near the Sabarimala Sannidhanam and back on July 12 and 13 respectively, the Kerala High Court closed the suo motu proceedings in the matter. The court took note of the explanation sought by the State Police Chief (SPC) from the ADGP regarding the incident. The ADGP had submitted a letter to the SPC stating that he boarded the tractor since he was “tired while climbing the trekking path.”

R. Jayakrishnan, Sabarimala Special Commissioner, had earlier informed the court that the officer had violated the court directive against people travelling on tractors meant for transportation of goods to the Sannidhanam.
