Indian Navy Football Team picked up a crucial point by playing a goalless draw against NEROCA FC in a Group-F match of 134th Durand Cup tournament at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium in Imphal. Both teams had several scoring opportunities but failed to find the finishing touch to see the match ending in a barren draw. The result saw Indian Navy reaching the top of the current group standings with four points from a win and a draw while NEROCA remained in the third spot with two points earned from as many draws. With Real Kashmir placed second with three points from its two outings, the group standings will be decided in the final round action next week.
In a Group-B match, Mohammedan Sporting secured a win after successive losses by downing Border Security Force FC 3-0 at the Kishore Bharati Stadium in Kolkata. Sporting, which had lost its previous two matches against Diamond Harbour FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant (both currently on six points each), went ahead early against BSF when Sajal Bag scored a penalty in the fifth minute. Sporting ended its campaign with three points while BSF lost all its matches.
