The Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday arrested one more person for allegedly dropping lewd messages to actor-producer and former Mandya MP Divya Spandana, also known as Ramya.
The suspect has been identified as Pramod Gowda, a security guard at a private company, residing in east Bengaluru’s K.R. Puram. This is the fifth arrest by the CCB after Ramya filed a complaint with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh alleging 43 social media handles of posting indecent comments and sending gross messages to her.
The development unfolded after the actress posted about the Supreme Court proceedings in the Renukaswamy murder case, where actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, a co-star of Ramya, is an accused.
Police had earlier arrested four people identified as Bhuvan, Rajesh, Obanna, and Gangadhar. Gowda’s was the first name among the 43 social media handles Ramya had mentioned in her complaint.
A senior CCB officer told The Hindu that Gowda has sent the most vulgar messages, among others. “The messages cannot even be spelt out, such is the filthiness,” the officer said.
