The State government on Friday filled the posts of Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine and, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services. Orders were also issued to fill the vacant posts of deans of a number of government medical colleges through transfers and promotions.
According to orders issued on Friday, the government appointed A. Somasundaram, Additional Director of Public Health and Preventive (Primary Health Centre including Urban PHC), Tamil Nadu Public Health Service as Director of Public Health (DPH) and Preventive Medicine in the existing vacancy. T. S. Selvavinayagam, former DPH, had retired last month.
D. K. Chitra, Additional Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, Office of the Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (DMS), Chennai has been appointed as Director of Medical and Rural Health Services in the existing vacancy. J. Rajamoorthy, former DMS, had retired last month. V. Sathia, Additional Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (ESI), Office of the Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (ESI), was appointed as Director of Family Welfare in the existing vacancy.
The government also issued transfer/promotions and postings to fill the vacancies in the post of deans. A. Aravind, dean, Government Medical College (GMC), Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai is transferred and posted as dean, Government Stanley Medical College (SMC), Chennai, while P. Leo David, dean, Government Kilpauk Medical College (KMC), Chennai is transferred and posted as dean, Government Kanyakumari Medical College, Asaripallam. V. Lokanayaki, dean, Government Karur Medical College, Karur is posted as Additional Director of Medical Education, Selection Committee, Office of Director of Medical Education and Research. M. Poovathi, dean cum Special Officer, GMC, Krishnagiri is transferred and posted as dean, Government Thanjavur Medical College.
M. Geethanjali, dean cum Special Officer, GMC, The Nilgiris is the dean of Government Coimbatore Medical College and K. Sathyabama, dean, Government Sivagangai Medical College, is transferred and posted as dean, GMC, Krishnagiri. G. Hariharan, dean, Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College is transferred and posted as dean, GMC, Omandurar Government Estate.
M. Gayathri, professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Madurai Medical college is posted as dean, GMC, Nagapattinam and R. Manonmani, professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Government Coimbatore Medical College is the dean of GMC, Tiruppur.
M. Lucy Nirmal Medona, professor of Microbiology, MMC is posted as dean, Government Villupuram Medical College, while M. Kavitha, professor/ Vice Principal, MMC is posted as dean of KMC. T. M. Manohar, professor of Orthopaedics, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem is posted as dean, Government Dharmapuri Medical College and C. Ashokan, professor of Orthopaedics, SMC is posted as dean, GMC, Tiruvarur. V. P. Mohan Gandhi, professor of Orthopaedics, Government Vellore Medical College is posted as dean, Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College, while E. Seenivasan, professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Government Coimbatore Medical College is posted as dean, Government Sivagangai Medical College.
Priya Pasupathi, professor of Community Medicine, MMC will be dean of Government Chengalpattu Medical College and J. Srisaravanan, professor of Neurosurgery, Madurai Medical College will be dean of GMC, The Nilgris.
