The federation opposing the Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam bypass and Coimbatore A4 scheme road, submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday (August 10, 2025) demanding removal of the bypass road plan from Coimbatore Master Plan 2041.

The federation said in the memorandum that farmers and residents of Kurumbapalayam and Karegoundanpalayam have opposed the bypass road project and submitted their opposition to the Revenue and Highways Department officials. However, it is learnt that the State Highways Department is trying to implement the bypass road project as a scheme road, making a few changes in the alignment. This has disappointed the farmers and residents.

The road threatens to hit agricultural activity and hence, the road proposal should be removed from the alignment, they said.

The federation members submitted the memorandum to the Chief Minister when he arrived in Coimbatore on Sunday evening.
