Naidu meets young professionals, urges vision-driven development and constituency-based planning

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon the newly-appointed young professionals to work with vision, coordination, and dedication to ensure constituency-level development across Andhra Pradesh. 

Addressing the Swarna Andhra Vision–2047 Young Professionals’ meeting at Block 5 of the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister shared his personal journey — from growing up in a village without electricity to introducing major power sector reforms in the undivided State.

The government appointed one post-graduate young professional for each Assembly constituency, tasked with working according to constituency-specific vision documents prepared under Swarna Andhra Vision–2047. The Planning Department gave them a week-long training programme before their field assignments. At the conclusion of the training, the Chief Minister interacted with all the 175 young professionals, offering guidance and setting expectations.

“This is a new approach. When I first became Chief Minister, I identified priority areas and planned accordingly. You must identify your constituency’s strengths, resources, and needs. Work with local MLAs and officials, prepare concrete development plans, and explain to people both the benefits of good policies and the risks of wrong approaches. Anticipate challenges before they arise,” Mr. Naidu said

Mr. Naidu noted that despite low rainfall this year, forward planning ensured reservoirs were filled and 80 per cent of the State’s total water storage capacity was achieved, benefiting groundwater levels. He urged the young professionals to study and monitor welfare programmes, infrastructure works, and sectoral growth, citing ongoing major road construction, pothole repairs costing ₹1,000 crore, and advancements in green energy.

“You have a great opportunity here,” Mr. Naidu told them. “Treat this not just as a job but a mission. Work with passion, not pressure. Coordinate with elected representatives and officials. Keep yourself updated with facts, because without accurate information, your voice won’t carry weight. The sky is the limit for your ideas if you are committed to development,” he added.

Referring to his own experience implementing reforms in 1995, Mr. Naidu said, “Vision is not just about creating wealth but also about ensuring welfare for the poor. My Vision 2020 was criticised then, but it proved 100 per cent correct for Hyderabad. Similarly, the work you do now will define the future of your constituencies.”

Mr. Naidu also announced a major development — the Centre has allocated a semiconductor unit to Andhra Pradesh, which he described as a “positive milestone” that would strengthen the State’s electronics ecosystem.

The Planning Department formally handed appointment letters to the 175 young professionals. Finance Minister P. Keshav, P4 Foundation Vice-Chairman K. Kutumba Rao, and senior Planning Department officials attended the event.
