Moodbidri police return lost bag with ₹10 lakh worth of gold to woman

The Moodbidri police traced the bag containing 72g of gold worth ₹10 lakh and a purse belonging to a woman, which she had lost on August 8, and returned it to her on August 10.

In a statement, the police said Vijaya, a resident of Padu Marnad village, visited Kuppepadavu on August 8 to attend the last rites ritual of her mother. While she was returning home on the same day, Vijaya lost her bag, containing 72g of gold and purse in the Moodbidri Market around 2 p.m.

Following her complaint, the team led by Moodbidri Inspector P.G. Sandesh looked at the CCTV camera footage in the area and traced the house in which the bag was kept., the police said.
