Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will unfurl the national flag at Fort Rampart, Secretariat on August 15, in connection with the 79th Independence Day Celebrations 2025.
The promulgation of orders under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 prohibiting use of drones, remote controlled micro-light aircrafts, para gliders is already in force from June 24, 2025 to August 22 in Greater Chennai Police limits.
In view of security reasons, the areas in and around Secretariat and the route traversed by the Chief Minister from residence, Chittaranjan Salai to Secretariat have been declared as a âRed Zoneâ and flying of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/Drones and any other aerial objects have been banned in Chennai on August 14 and 15 (both days inclusive) except the Government arrangements, said a press release from the office of Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A. Arun.
