Telangana Rain | Boating, trekking closed in Vikarabad tourist spots; very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall forecast

Ahead of the long weekend, Vikarabad administration has announced that boating and trekking in tourist spots were closed to the public in view of heavy rains. It is home to some spots which are popular among people in and around Hyderabad who head there on weekends. People were appealed to drop their plans to tour the district. The second highest rainfall in Telangana on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) was recorded in Pargi mandal of the district.

The collector Prateek Jain on Thursday (August 14, 2025) appealed to people not to step out of homes unless necessary as rains were forecast till Sunday (August 17, 2025). He along with officials inspected the brook in Parigi which is overflowing. Vikarabad is one of the three districts under red alert (Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall) as forecast by India Meteorological Department on Wednesday. The district administration has announced control room numbers 7995061192,08416235291.

The collector along with superintendent of police Narayana Reddy visited the village in Parigi mandal where quake was recorded in the morning. Mr. Jain directed officials to identify homes which developed cracks.
