Expert Pre-University College, Kodialbail, Mangaluru, under the aegis of Expert Group of Institutions, has announced ‘Xcelerate 2025,’ an inter-school science extravaganza to ignite scientific curiosity and creativity among high school students.
Group chairman Narendra L. Nayak told reporters here on Thursday that the event will be held on October 18 and is open to students from Classes 8 to 10 across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
He said ‘Xcelerate 2025’ is an initiative aimed at fostering interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through engaging competitions and hands-on experiences. It may become a launchpad for students to explore the wonders of science, gain practical skills and engage in meaningful dialogue with educators and peers.
Four categories
The event includes, X-Quizit (Science Quiz) – a science and mathematics quiz to challenge students’ knowledge and analytical thinking; X-IgnAIte (AI Workshop) – an AI workshop where students will learn about AI tools and prompt engineering, culminating in a web application development contest; X-Zibit (Model making) – a science model-making competition judged on innovation, scientific accuracy, presentation and real-world relevance and X-Sight (Interactive Demos) – interactive demos and Q&A sessions with Expert’s faculty, offering students a chance to explore science through direct engagement.
Mr. Nayak said each school may nominate four teams of two students for each category. All participants will receive certificates, and winners will be awarded first and second prizes. The school with the highest cumulative score will be honoured with the Overall Championship Trophy.
Schools must register online at xcelerate.expertedu.co.in before September 20 with participation limited only to registered teams.
Participating students will get to experience the latest in STEM and try out future-ready practical skills in education. Xcelerate is a perfect starting point for young thinkers to explore, interact, and innovate, shaping a world filled with knowledge and imagination, he said.
Group vice-chairperson Ushaprabha N. Nayak, director Ankush N. Nayak, principal Ramachandra Bhat and others were present.
