Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu G.R.J. on Thursday flagged off a free ambulance service launched by SDM Narayana Heart Centre, Dharwad, for heart patients in Hubballi-Dharwad.

Flagging off the service, the Deputy Commissioner lauded Narayana Health for its commitment to community healthcare and termed it a gift to the people of Hubballi-Dharwad.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer S.M. Honakeri said that the service will be a valuable asset for the twin cities.

According to Medical Superintendent of SDM Narayana Heart Centre Kirti P.L., the free ambulance will respond to calls from hospitals in the city and transfer patients diagnosed with heart conditions to Narayana Heart Centre for advanced treatment.

“In heart attack cases, time is critical. This service will help ensure that patients receive life-saving care at the earliest possible time,” she said.

District Surgeon Sangappa Gabi and others were present.
