The Raja Bahadur Venkatarama Reddy Telangana Police Academy will host the first Telangana State Conference for Women in Police from August 20 to 22, bringing together around 400 to 450 police officers of all ranks from across the State. The event aims to provide an open platform for discussion, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among women officers and other stakeholders.
Telangana Director General of Police Jitender said the conference would not only help women police personnel work more efficiently but also give them an opportunity to voice their concerns openly.
Participants will also include officers from other uniformed services such as the Excise, Prisons, Forest, and Transport Departments, as well as senior officials and subject experts from other States, Central Police Forces, and allied institutions. The sessions will focus on collaborative learning and knowledge sharing.
A key outcome of the conference will be the drafting of a comprehensive gender policy document to serve as a strategic framework for the integration, empowerment, and well-being of women in the Telangana Police. Discussions will address specific needs, including uniform design during pregnancy and maternity, and other workplace requirements.
Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Rural Water Supply D. Anasuya, also known as Seethakka will inaugurate the conference on August 20 as the Chief Guest.
