85 crore fingerlings and 10 crore juvenile prawns to be released into Telangana’s water bodies

Telangana government would release 84.62 crore fingerlings into 26,326 water bodies across 33 districts of the State at 100% percent grant. This is towards development of Gangaputra and Mudiraj communities.

Besides, around 10 crore juvenile prawns would be released into 300 water bodies at 100% grant, said Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Vakiti Srihari at a press conference held in Hyderabad on Thursday (August 14, 2025).The fingerlings and juveniles would be bought from August 18 to 30. The estimated budget for fingerlings is ₹93.62 crore and ₹28.60 crore for juveniles.
