A 75-year-old man died when the roof of his house collapsed due to heavy overnight rains in Ramadurg in Belagavi district of Karnataka.
Vaman Rao Bapu Pawar, 75, was asleep in his house near the Mahadev temple in Ningapur Pet when the roof collapsed around 4 a.m. on August 20. He was stuck under the debris and died of suffocation.
Officers of the fire and emergency service and police personnel reached the spot, and pulled out the body.
Police Sub-Inspector Savita Munyala visited the spot.
A case has been registered.
