Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was allegedly attacked at a “Jan Sunwai” programme at her official residence in Civil Lines on Thursday (August 20, 2025) morning, the BJP said.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva “strongly” condemned the “attack” on the Chief Minister during her weekly “Jan Sunwai” programme, said the Delhi BJP in a message.

He said that a police inquiry will reveal more details.

Party sources said that Ms. Gupta was “attacked” by a man aged around 35. The accused man first handed over a paper as a complaint to the Chief Minister and then allegedly attacked her, a BJP leader said.

The accused man has been detained from the spot, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) sources.
