Three members of a family were found dead in a house in south Delhi’s Maidan Garhi on Wednesday, the police said.
The matter came to light when a pungent stench alerted the neighbours, who called the PCR. When a police team reached the house in Satbari Kharak village, it found three bodies lying in a pool of blood, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan.
The deceased were identified as Prem Singh, 45, his wife Rajani Devi, 40, and their son Ritik, 24.
The police officer said the couple’s younger son, Siddharth, 22, was found missing. “As per the initial probe, Siddharth had told a person that he had allegedly murdered his family,” said the DCP, adding that the suspect had been undergoing psychiatric treatment for the past 12 years and at times “behaved aggressively”.
The DCP said it was also learnt that “Siddharth was not very fond of his family because of his mental health issues”.
Efforts are under way to trace the suspect, the police officer added.
