Shooter wanted for firing outside Youtuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram house arrested after encounter

One of the shooters wanted in connection with the firing outside the house of Youtuber Elvish Yadav in Gurugram last Sunday (Aug 17, 2025), has been arrested by the Faridabad Police after a brief encounter on Friday (August 22, 2025) morning.

The shooter, Ishant Gandhi alias Ishu, sustained a bullet injury in his leg in a retaliatory firing by the Faridabad Police Crime Branch officers during the encounter. “Ishant fired four rounds on the police vehicle in a bid to flee, but no police personnel was injured. The police fired in retaliation causing a bullet injury in his leg a little below the knee. He was then arrested,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, Mukesh Kumar, adding that the encounter took place around 4 a.m.

Three masked men had fired several shots outside the residence of Elvish Yadav on Sunday. Mr. Yadav was away in connection with his work, but his family was present inside at the time of incident.

In a closed-circuit television footage, the two men could be seen arriving outside the house on a motorcycle and opening fire from a distance. Later, one of the duo leaned over the main gate of the multi-storey house to shoot a few rounds before fleeing.
