Second Godavari flood warning issued at Dowleswaram, Konaseema on alert

The second warning of the Godavari flood has been issued at Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowleswaram after the flood level reached 13.75 ft over the sill of the barrage in the early hours of Friday (August 22, 2025.) 

According to the Godavari Flood-2025 bulletin, the inflow of the flood level is above 13.30 lakh cusecs and 10,800 cusecs of them is being released into the canals in the Godavari delta. 

The islands of river Godavari remain cut-off from the mainland. The evacuation operations have been intensified. All the flood duty staff have been posted along the banks of river Godavari and its branches — Vasista and Gowthami. The trend of inflow of the flood water remains on the ‘rise.’
