Assam Rifles demonstrates use of drones against terrorists; CM Manik Saha witnesses

Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force, demonstrated the use of modern technology in war and counter-insurgency operations at its 21 sector headquarters in Agartala on Friday (August 22, 2025). Performances were displayed over the use of drones in operations against the extremists and their hideouts.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, DGP Anurag and senior Assam Rifles officials were present at the programme. They witnessed how a drone can identify, strike and destroy a target.

Assam Rifles officials claimed the drones could effectively be used to deal with the terrorists.

Mr. Saha thanked the Assam Rifles for its significant role in maintaining the State’s peace and dealing with the lawmakers. He thanked the paramilitary forces for organising such a security-oriented demonstration.
