The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday, August 23 caught the Station House Officer (SHO) of Dornakal police station in Mahabubabad district and his gunman while accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 at his residence.

The officer, identified as Inspector Bhukya Rajesh, and Constable Daravath Ravi were trapped after allegedly demanding ₹50,000 from a complainant to release a seized vehicle and extend cooperation in a case registered at the station earlier this year. According to the ACB, the complainant paid an initial amount of ₹30,000, which was recovered from Rajesh’s possession.

Both officers were arrested and were produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation into the case is under way.

The ACB urged the public to report demands for bribes through its toll-free number 1064, or via its official WhatsApp, Facebook, and X accounts, assuring that complainants’ identities will be kept confidential.
