RPF personnel seize 23.1 kg narcotics in unclaimed bags

The Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) of Railway Protection Force unit in Coimbatore on Saturday seized four unclaimed bags containing 23.1 kg ganja-like substance found near the coach of Gorakhpur-Thiruvananthapuram North Express that passes through Coimbatore Junction in the morning hours.

The contraband valued at ₹11.55 lakh were seized under the provisions of Section 42 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (Power of entry, search, seizure and arrest without warrant or authorisation), a press release issued by the Railway Protection Force said
