The Rajamangalam police in Chennai arrested three persons including a history-sheeter and a college student and foiled an attempt to revenge murder, on Saturday (August 23, 2025).
According to the police, a dispute over a temple issue in Rajamangalam in 2019 led to the murder of a man named Janakiraman. In retaliation, Janakiraman’s relatives killed one Sarath last year. At this juncture, the crime wing of Rajamangalam police recently received a tip-off that a murder plot is being hatched by both the sides to avenge the murder on each other’s end.
Acting on it, the police conducted an intensive search and arrested Nitish from Janakiraman’s side, last week. After interrogating him, the police arrested three persons including Rathinam alias Rathinakumar (23), a history-sheeter from Villivakkam, belonging to the Janakiraman’s faction, Vedant (20), a college student from Kolathur, and Bose (31) of Ambattur.
The police produced all three in court and remanded them to custody.
