Quizzing events held in the city as part of Madras Day celebrations

From food joints in the city to transportation, two quizzing events held in the city celebrated the city in more ways than one as part of Madras Day celebrations.

While on August 23, ‘Quiz @123’ organised by ‘X Quiz It’ was held, on Sunday, Murugappa Group organised ‘Madras Quiz 2025’.

Arvind Rajeev of ‘X Quiz It’, a quizzing firm said, this was the second edition and from school students to senior citizens, the event saw a brisk participation. He said they had questions about everything from the city’s routes, cuisines, mobility, initiatives of Greater Chennai Corporation, monuments and many other aspects.

At the ‘Madras Quiz 2025’, conducted by quizmaster Sumanth C Raman at Madras Management Association, the theme was ‘Idhu Oru Thani Vibe’. There were numerous participants in the prelims. Following this, six teams qualified for the finals in which eight rounds were held. Nair Mess to Pandan Club, Kapaleeswarar Temple Tank to Fort St George, the quiz was centred around the city and this year there were innovative rounds including one AI-generated visuals.

Sridharan Rangarajan, managing director, Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI) said, this quiz is a living tribute to the stories and spirit of the city.
