Hyderabad Rain August 27 | Heavy overnight rain tapers off to light drizzle

Heavy overnight rain turned into a light spell by Wednesday (August 27, 2025) morning in Hyderabad. But the outlying districts of the city received very heavy rainfall on Tuesday. Tekmal in Medak received 19.1 cm of rainfall, while Bhongir received 14.9 cm of rainfall, according to data recorded by the automatic weather stations of Telangana Development Planning Society. Twenty other weather monitors recorded over 10 cm of rainfall in the state. In Hyderabad, the western parts of Serilingampally (4.5 cm), Chanda Nagar (3.9 cm), Patancheru 3.7 (cm), Kukatpally (3.4 cm) overnight.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) as very likely to occur in the city on Wednesday. Water pooling on roads and low lying areas, wet and slippery roads is the expected impact of the weather. Similar weather conditions were predicted for Thursday too.
