Tiruchi City Police took out flag marches here on Tuesday on the eve of Vinayaka Chathurthi on August 27.

The flag marches were conducted on the instruction of Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi, N. Kamini to instill confidence in the minds of the public and to ensure law and order. The flag march was taken out in the morning in Ariyamangalam police station limits. Police personnel took out the march from SIT and went via Kamaraj Nagar, G.D. Naidu street and check post 4 before culminating in a ground.

The flag march in the evening was taken out in Woraiyur police station limits from Nachiayarkoil junction to Woraiyur police station passing via Tawker road and Pandamangalam Muslim street. Assistant Commissioners of Police, Inspectors and personnel attached to the law and order wing participated in the flag marches, a police press release said.
