Catholicos Baselios Joseph of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church visited Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad, the headquarters of the Syro-Malabar Church, on Monday.
He stressed the need for fostering co-existence between Churches, particularly between Syro-Malabar and Jacobite Churches, in his interaction with Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil. The visit was held during the synod of the Syro-Malabar bishops, according to a release.
The Major Archbishop said that the Syro-Malabar Church was willing to extend a hand of brotherhood to the Jacobite Church whenever needed. He also called for a joint effort to preserve the shared religious heritage and traditions of both churches, it said.
