A case of assault, registered by the Perambalur district police based on a complaint lodged by G. Sarathkumar, 24, of Perambalur, during the Tamiliga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) State conference held in Madurai, has been transferred to the Koodakovil police station in Madurai district.
In his complaint, Sarathkumar, who had attended the second State conference of the TVK on August 21, alleged that he was pushed down from the 10-foot-high ramp by bouncers who had provided security to actor and party founder Vijay.
The youth had climbed up the ramp and tried to approach the TVK president when he was walking on it and greeting party cadres and fans. Sarathkumar had complained that he suffered chest pain after he fell off the ramp.
Based on his complaint, a zero FIR was registered by Kunnnam police station in Perambalur district against Vijay and 10 bouncers on charges of unlawful assembly, using abusive language, and assault on Sarathkumar.
It has been transferred to Madurai, and the Koodakoil police are investigating.
