President of India Droupadi Murmu will visit Chennai on September 2 and 3, and attend a function at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, on the afternoon of September 2.

The President will stay at Raj Bhavan, Guindy, and will leave for Tiruchi by an IAF aircraft the next day.

The promulgation of orders under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, prohibiting the use of drones, remote-controlled micro-light aircraft, paragliders, paramotors, hand gliders, hot-air balloons, etc., is already in force from August 23 to October 21 within the Greater Chennai Police limits.

The police said that in view of security reasons, the areas under the jurisdiction of the Greater Chennai Police, including Chennai Airport, Chennai Trade Centre (Nandambakkam), Raj Bhavan (Guindy), and the route traversed by the VVIP within the GCP limits have been declared ‘Red Zones’, and the flying of drone cameras or any other aerial objects has been banned as aforementioned, which includes the dates September 2 and 3.
