Over 20 school students and the bus crew were injured when one school bus rammed another from the same institution on Srinivasapuram Road at Kangarananthal village near Arani town in Tiruvannamalai on Thursday.
Police said a school bus, driven by S. Thanigaivel, 43, with around 25 students, was proceeding towards the school campus on the stretch. When he tried to slow down the vehicle, another bus of the same school coming behind hit the vehicle. A total of 25 persons, including students, were injured in the accident which happened around around 9 a.m.
Immediately, passersby and other motorists rescued the injured school students. They were treated at a primary health care centre at Thatchur village. A case was registered and further probe is under way.
