Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 134.65 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 1,025 cusecs and a discharge of 1,000 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 68.80 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 738 cusecs and a discharge of 769 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 10,329.43 mcft. Rainfall recorded during the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Friday was (in mm): Mullaperiyar dam 17.8, Thekkadi 6, Sothupparai dam 1.5, Gudalur 1.2, Shanmuganadhi dam and Kodaikanal 1 each, Veerapandi 0.8 and Elumalai 0.2.
