Doctors at the G.V.N. Riverside Hospital in Tiruchi have performed a complex shoulder replacement procedure on a 75-year-old man with multiple co-morbidities.
The shoulder replacement procedure was performed using the state-of-the-art arthrex modular glenoid system with virtual implant positioning technology for the patient with multiple comorbidities, who was struggling with left shoulder pain and difficulty in movement for the last one-and-a-half years after a failed, infected rotator cuff repair surgery.
This innovative system enables precise customisation through its modularity, resulting in a superior implant fit, improved joint stability, and enhanced functional outcomes. A team of doctors, including V. J. Senthil, lead orthopaedic surgeon, Ranjith Kumar, and Sakthi Yathav, performed the procedure, the release said.
