Bharatanatyam performer Vidushi V. Deesksha of Udupi district entered into Golden Book of World Records by completing 216 hours of continuous performance, during nine days, in Udupi on Saturday.
Ms. Deeksha from Aroor village in Brahmavar taluk, who began her performance at G. Shankar Government Women’s First Grade College, Ajjarakadu, in Udupi on August 21 at 3.30 p.m., completed the performance at 3.30 p.m. in the same college on August 30. The performance was organised under the auspices of Ratna Sanjeeva Kalamandala of Manipal.
Manish Bishnoi, Asia head of Golden Book of World Records, handed over the certificate to Ms. Deeksha for completing the performance, at a public felicitation programme at Mahatma Gandhi district stadium, Ajjarakadu.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who attended the function, hailed the performance of Ms. Deeksha and felicitated her.
