The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow has appointed S. Vetrivel Chezian, Director of the Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), as an international advisor for India.
Dr. Chezian, whose experience extends to 35 years, received a confirmation letter on the appointment from John Scott FRCS, International Director and Vice-President Surgical, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, last week.
The letter stated that the role is for a three-year term and a review will be conducted after the first year to ensure if he continues to meet the expectations and satisfaction of all parties involved.Â
According to Dr. Chezian, an international advisor serves as a vital link between the Royal College and its Indian members and fellows. The responsibilities include liaison of members, promotion of programmes of the Royal College and guidance to medical graduates seeking training and career opportunities in the UK, among others.Â
Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan posted on X that his achievement is a moment of pride for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and India.
