Five history-sheeters were awarded life imprisonment in a murder case on Monday.
According to prosecution, an armed gang murdered Siluvai Anto Abhinesh, 20, of Kooththenkuzhi in 2021 because of prior enmity.
The Koodankulam police arrested Siluvai Arul Chandru, 23, Revanth, 26, Sanjay Pradish, 23, Nicholas Robiston, 23, and Siluvai Michael Dennis, 24, all history-sheeters, a juvenile and two more persons, all from Kooththenkuzhi in connection with this murder.
Fourth Additional Sessions Court Magistrate Kathiravan awarded life imprisonment to Chandru, Revanth, Pradish, Nicholas, and Dennis and imposed a fine of ₹5,000 each on Monday while acquitting two others.
The case against the minor accused is being heard separately by the Juvenile Justice Board.
