The Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Banjara Hills here witnessed grand celebrations on Sunday as devotees gathered in large numbers for Sri Radhastami, marking the divine appearance of Radha Rani, the eternal consort of Lord Krishna.
From dawn, the deities of Sri Radha Govinda were adorned in splendid new attire and exquisite jewellery, offering devotees a special darshan. The temple altars were richly decorated with flowers, creating a vibrant and fragrant atmosphere.
In a special address, Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, president of the Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad, explained the significance of Radhastami, observed on the eighth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada. He described Radha Rani as the mother of the universe and said devotees pray to her for Krishna-bhakti on this day.
The celebrations concluded with dinner prasadam being served to all devotees. The temple management said elaborate arrangements had been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
