Camera technician dies after falling from balcony in Chennai

A 44-year-old man died after slipping and falling from the balcony of his house in Thirumangalam on Tuesday (September 2, 2025). 

A senior official of the city police said P. Sivakumar was a resident of a housing board apartment at N.V.N. Nagar in Thirumangalam. He lived alone and worked as a camera technician at a photo studio. On Tuesday, Sivakumar, an alcoholic, got drunk in his apartment. He came to the balcony, which had no protective platform, and slipped and fell from the first floor, according to the police. On hearing a loud noise, neighbours came out and saw Sivakumar lying in a pool of blood. 

The Thirumangalam police, on being alerted, registered a case and sent Sivakumar’s body to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
